Roam creates innovative digital businesses and products for customers down the road and around the globe. Part of co-creating these amazing new business opportunities for our clients is working together as partners to define the strategy, go-to-market, business models and channel opportunities, as well as taking them through our incredible design sprint process with the customer at the heart of it all. We guide them through the development and launch, as well as the ongoing analytics and deep data insights that are required to evolve and iterate a digital business once it’s out there in the world. 

With our global expansion continuing we are looking to build out our Business Development team at all Roam studios. Business development at Roam is about developing our clients’ businesses which therefore leads to our own growth. It’s not “selling” or squeezing in where it doesn’t make sense. It’s about genuinely working together on initiatives that impact a client’s business. 

YOUR NEW JOB

Driving our multiple partnerships and channels. These aren’t small.
Bit of farming, bit of hunting, even some fishing if you do well at the first two if you like.
You like planes (though not plane spotting level) and airports as there will be some travel.
Facilitating client workshops and helping them on their digital journey.
It’s personalised engagement here, it’s not a volume game.
Growing our BD function as Roam grows. Opportunities galore! 
Build our pipeline, chase new leads and cultivate existing relationships.
Wear steel-capped shoes for kicking in doors to get those initial meetings.
Do rewarding work. Get rewarded.

WHAT YOU KNOW

Workshop facilitation, business modelling, business strategy.
What a solid BD pipeline process looks like. And the red flags too.
Most importantly, what we don’t offer.
OCD about numbers, metrics and a data-driven approach to BD.
You’re connected. You know people. The best people.
Confident talking about development, design and product strategy.
You know your CRM from your MVP, KPI, OKRs and other TLAs.
Strong negotiation skills and experience dealing with C-suite level stakeholders and closing large deals.

You’ve had a previous life as a Startup founder, Senior Product Manager or Senior Product Designer.
You live and breathe the qualities of an Exceptional Roamer - you’re curious, passionate, honest, empathetic and pursue excellence everyday.
A natural story teller (but no BS) who can weave the client into the narrative as you’re presenting. Being Irish helps.
Own your successes. And also your failures. We’ve been there too.
You’re proactive and take initiative at every opportunity. This means you kick your own arse. Mind the shoes.
You’ve worked in startups and corporates. Perhaps even an agency. We’re not like your old agency.
