We require an experienced Excavator Operator, with precision finishing ability to join our team.
The job involves
• Operating machines between 1.5 tonne and 14 tonnes. However, on occasion, you may be required to operate larger machines.
• Foundation excavations and backfills, auguring, trenching, general site works, demolition, roading/asphalt prep. Driveway preparation and retaining wall excavation.
• Reading detailed plans and working to them. However, you will also need to be flexible and work to altered plans.
• Working to grade, including finishing to fine tolerances of 5mm.
• Operating a laser, plate compactor and roller.
• Labouring.
• Working unsupervised and supporting the development of lesser skilled employees.
• Leading role in meeting Health and Safety requirements.
• Completion of time sheets.
• Recording job specifics and taking initiative where needed.
The requirements
• Experience in both large scale and precision excavation work.
• The proven ability to complete excavation work to fine tolerances of 5mm.
• Physical fitness.
• A current and full driving licence, with a WTR endorsement or similar.
• Class 2/4 licence would be an advantage.
• Must pass a drug test.
• Experience in managing Health and Safety requirements would be an advantage.
• Reliable, you must arrive on time and ready for the day ahead.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to motivate and encourage less experienced team members.
